About the Role

At Google, engineers not only revolutionize search but routinely work on massive scalability and storage solutions, large-scale applications, and entirely new platforms for developers around the world. As a Software Engineering Intern, you will work on a specific project critical to Google's needs. You will design, implement, and manage the hardware, software, and systems infrastructure for Google services and Google Cloud, serving billions of people globally.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop software for Google Cloud's infrastructure to empower Google services and external cloud customers, utilizing hardware platforms including compute, storage, or AI-accelerators like TPUs and GPUs.
• Create and support a productive and innovative team by working closely with peers, managers, and other teams.
• Analyze data and evaluate results to choose the best solution to effectively solve technical issues.
• Develop scripts or utilize AI to automate routine tasks and manual processes.
• Apply knowledge gained in computer science courses to real-world infrastructure and engineering issues.

Eligibility Criteria

• Must be currently pursuing a PhD degree program in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Must be located in Taiwan for the entire duration of the internship program.
• Available to work full-time for 12 weeks outside of university term time.
• Ideally in the penultimate academic year or returning to a degree program after completion of the internship.

Qualifications, Skills and Competencies

• Languages: English proficiency is a requirement for this internship to facilitate efficient global collaboration.
• Programming Skills: Experience in software development and coding in Python, C/C++, or CUDA.
• Technical Knowledge: Experience with data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Research Experience: Preferred research experience in computer architecture, embedded systems, accelerators, artificial intelligence, data mining, distributed systems, machine learning, data science, LLM, rule base, or systems.
