MACS-ARI Pune invites applications from eligible candidates for direct recruitment of Project Scientist‑B under the ICAR-AICS Genetics Plant Breeding Project at Hol Farm, Baramati. The post is reserved for ST, temporary & co‑terminus with the project.

• Essential: Master’s degree (M.Sc./M.Tech or equivalent) in Genetics/Plant Breeding in Agriculture from a recognized university.
• Desirable:
  • PhD in Genetics/Plant Breeding/Agriculture or related fields
  • Experience under ICAR’s AICRP Schemes/field crops (Soybean/Legumes/etc.)
  • 5‑year research experience in plant breeding (varietal/genetic stock development, release, registration)

• Execution & planning of farm experiments at Hol Farm & other associated sites
• Conducting/monitoring All India Coordinated Research Project (soybean breeding)
• Running research trials for station/consultancy projects (varietal evaluation, product testing)
• Hybridization, introgression, screening, advanced line development, maintenance, and seed production
• Recording, analyzing, and interpreting field/lab data; research article preparation
• Technology dissemination and other project-related duties as assigned

• Experience with ICAR-AICRP variety trial procedures & data
• Expertise in agricultural experiment design, execution, & reporting
• Seed production and documentation
• Proficiency in computer data analysis (MS Office, statistical software)
• Track record of scientific writing/publication
• Ability to work in rural/farm environment; knowledge of local language desirable
• Liaison skills with agri research/development institutions

• Upper age: 40 years (including ST category relaxation)
• Further relaxable for central/state government servants as per rules (max +5 yrs)

• Initial appointment is project-based & temporary (one year, renewable as per ICAR-AICS project tenure at Hol Farm Baramati)
• Pay Level‑10 (₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500) + admissible DA, NPS, LTC, medical etc. as per rules
• Selected candidate shall not claim absorption/regularization beyond project period
• Liable to serve anywhere in India or abroad as per institute requirement

• Final merit panel valid for 1 year (for current/future vacancies)
