IIT Roorkee Physics – Walk-in Interview for Project Fellow & JRF (Quantum Photonics Project, Nov 2025)

IIT Roorkee, Department of Physics, invites eligible candidates for walk-in interview to fill two project positions in the DST-sponsored “RASPAC” quantum photonics project under Prof. Rajesh Kumar. The positions are purely temporary, project-based, and will NOT lead to permanent employment at IIT Roorkee.

Eligibility & Qualification
- Project Fellow: PhD in Science/Engineering/Engineering Science or equivalent. 2 yrs experience (research/teaching/electronics/photonics industry). At least 1 SCI journal paper or 1 granted patent. Integrated photonics research in computational/fabrication/experimental field desirable.
- Junior Research Fellow (JRF): M.Sc in Physics/Applied Physics/Electronics, or M.Tech/ME in Photonics/Optoelectronics/Laser/Optical Communications, or B.Tech/B.E in Engineering Physics/Electronics & Comm. Must have qualified NET or GATE. Fine to have UG/PG thesis or internship in computational/experimental/fabrication photonics.
Preference given to SC/ST candidates (equal qualifications/experience). Duration for both posts till end of project (max 2031).
Project/Job Description
- Experimental, computational, and fabrication work on quantum silicon photonic architectures
- Simulation, clean-room device fabrication, measurements of quantum photonic circuits
- Project fellow: may require additional research/startup/company tasks relevant to project goals

- No TA/DA paid for interview. SC/ST preference in interview/selection as per rules.
- Shortlisted JRF may get chance for PhD enrollment at IIT Roorkee (subject to norms)
