About the Scholarship & Development Program

The ASML Technology Scholarship is designed to equip top-tier STEM students with the tools they need to make the right choices for their future in engineering. Beyond financial aid, recipients are enrolled in a rigorous two-year professional development program. Six times a year, scholars are invited to the global headquarters in Veldhoven for a full day of activities, including mentor meetings and 11 specialized training sessions focusing on personal leadership, communication, collaboration, and career preparation using real-world ASML case studies.

The Technology Ambassador Project

As part of the scholarship agreement, all students are required to complete a 'technology ambassador project'. This initiative asks scholars to share their enthusiasm for technology and science with a target group of their choice. Examples include giving guest lectures at local schools, producing engaging video content on scientific topics, or mentoring underprivileged children in hands-on technology projects.

Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications

• Academic Status: Applicants must be starting a two-year technical master's degree at a Dutch university in 2026 and have recently (or almost) completed their bachelor's degree.
• Academic Excellence: Must currently maintain at least a 7.00 average grade score.
• Eligible Fields of Study: Aerospace engineering, Physics/Astronomy, Computer Science, AI, Data Science, Electrical engineering, Materials science, Mathematics, Mechanical engineering, Mechatronics, and Nanotechnology.
• Extracurriculars: Must demonstrate a strong drive for personal development and achievement through active participation in extracurricular activities.
• Nationality: Open to students of all nationalities (Note: funding is not sufficient to cover full international non-EU tuition fees).
• Availability: Must be available to personally attend one of the mandatory selection days on May 22 or May 28, 2026, at ASML's headquarters in Veldhoven.

How to Apply

1. Ensure you meet the 7.00 grade average requirement and are enrolling in an eligible technical master's program in the Netherlands for 2026.
2. Submit your initial online application, including your CV and academic transcripts, before the April 12, 2026 deadline.
3. If selected for the first round, you will be invited to record and submit a unique video cover letter (motivation video).
4. The technical selection board will review your application and invite top candidates to the mandatory in-person selection days in Veldhoven.

• I have already started my Master's, can I apply? The scholarship is only open to students starting their master's degree program in the same year they submit their application. If you started in a previous academic year, you are not eligible.
• Are international students eligible? Yes, students of all nationalities pursuing a master's degree in the Netherlands can apply. However, the €5,000/year stipend may not cover the full cost of international tuition fees.
• Can I apply if I am doing a lot of extracurriculars? If extracurriculars (like a student team or board membership) will take up more than 50% of your time, you should hold your application until the year you begin full-time master's studies.
• What if I study abroad for a semester? You are still eligible if you plan on doing a foreign internship or exchange program for a maximum of four months during your Dutch master's degree.
