About the Role & Unit
The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) is a United Nations specialized agency that establishes international Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs) for aviation safety, air navigation, security, and environmental protection. The Revenue and Product Management Section focuses on revenue-generating activities such as events, training, publications, databases, and websites, which support ICAO's broader Strategic Goals. Working under the supervision of the Marketing Manager, this internship provides extensive opportunities to learn about digital marketing, communications, and international aviation within a UN environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and scheduling of email marketing campaigns while learning to use automation systems.
- Draft basic content for marketing emails and social media posts, learning effective message crafting and audience targeting.
- Support the preparation and publishing of posts on platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and X.
- Organize digital files, images, and marketing content, learning how to properly tag assets for searchability and easy access.
- Help monitor social media engagement, identify trends, and track campaign performance to prepare simple performance summaries.
- Assist in populating and updating the event mobile app with key information to enhance the overall attendee experience.
Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Status: Applicants must be enrolled in or have completed a university degree or higher at the time of application.
- Field of Study: The degree program must be related to marketing, business, communications, public or business administration, political science, and/or journalism.
- Language Skills: Fluent reading, writing, and speaking abilities in English are strictly essential. A working knowledge of Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish is highly desirable.

Internship Conditions & Benefits
- Remuneration: Interns are not paid. All costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation, and living expenses must be borne directly by the intern.
- Work Schedule: The position requires working full-time, five days a week (9 AM - 5 PM) for a preferred duration of six months.
- Work Environment: This is a hybrid role requiring physical presence in the Montreal office at least three days a week. Candidates may need a work permit to work in Canada as an intern.
- Employment Restrictions: Interns are not eligible for any other employment within ICAO during the internship and for six months immediately following its conclusion.
