About the Role & Work Environment
The Exploration Ground Systems (EGS) Human Systems Integration (HSI) team is responsible for ensuring safe, effective, and human-centered design across ground systems supporting human spaceflight. The team masterfully integrates Human Factors (HF), Human Rating requirements, and cross-program coordination across the Space Launch System (SLS), Orion, and NASA ground operations in direct support of the Artemis Missions. The selected intern will support technical integration, human rating certification activities, and process improvements while leveraging AI-enabled tools to drive workflow efficiencies.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in coordinating critical inputs from EGS subsystems and maintain schedules for deliverables.
- Support technical integration and cross-program coordination across NASA operations (SLS/Orion).
- Provide concepts and engineering insights based on human factors analysis and creative problem-solving.
- Use AI tools and copilots to identify trends, automate data tracking, generate concise meeting summaries, and streamline HF review workflows.
- Draft written and presentation materials for HSI technical meetings, readiness reviews, and working groups.
- Track technical products, schedules, program tasks, and action items collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.
Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications
