About the Role & Work Environment
Established in 1950, UNHCR is a global organization dedicated to saving lives, protecting rights, and building a better future for asylum seekers, refugees, and internally displaced communities. The HR internship will be based in the Warsaw office, supporting the Multi-Country Office (MCO) covering Poland, Czechia, and Slovakia. Working under the direct supervision of the Senior Human Resources Officer, the intern will gain first-hand experience in core HR functions in a dynamic, international environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Filing and Archiving: Maintain highly organized electronic and physical personnel records while strictly ensuring compliance with confidentiality standards.
- Absence Management: Assist in tracking and recording leave for non-staff personnel, ensuring accurate documentation and timely reporting.
- Vacancy Management: Provide crucial clerical support during the recruitment process by coordinating incoming applications and assisting with candidate shortlisting.
- Onboarding & Training: Support the onboarding process for new staff and assist in updating training materials on topics like the Code of Conduct and Newcomers' Induction.
- General Administration: Assist with routine HR reporting, data entry, and perform ad-hoc administrative tasks as required by the HR team.
Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications
- Educational Status: Applicants must be either a recent graduate (having completed their studies within two years of applying) OR a current student in a graduate/undergraduate program from an IAU/UNESCO accredited facility.
