About the UN Resident Coordinator System
The United Nations Resident Coordinator (RC) system brings together all UN development organizations to provide coherent, effective, and efficient support at the country level. The RC is the highest-ranking official of the UN Development System in each country and leads the UN Country Team to coordinate support for the 2030 Agenda.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Data, Monitoring and Reporting Officer, the intern will support the following activities:
- Data & Monitoring:
- Collect and analyze data for the Common Country Analysis (CCA) and the Cooperation Framework.
- Support the development of the annual UN Country Results Report.
- Assist in the functioning of the inter-agency Monitoring and Evaluation Group (MEG).
- Reporting & Platforms:
- Support the implementation and update of the UNINFO platform.
- Assist in the coordination of joint work plans.
- Other Duties: Perform other tasks as required by the office.
Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Status: Candidates must meet one of the following:
- Currently enrolled in a graduate school programme (Second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
- Currently enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent).
- Have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation.
- Computer Skills: Computer literate in standard software applications.
Qualifications, Skills and Competencies
- Language Skills:
- Spanish: Fluency (speak, read, write, and understand) is required.
- English: Knowledge is an asset.
- Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.
- Competencies:
- Communication: Speaks and writes clearly and effectively; listens to others and interprets messages correctly.
- Teamwork: Works collaboratively with colleagues to achieve organizational goals.
- Client Orientation: Considers all those to whom services are provided to be "clients" and seeks to see things from their point of view.
