About the Role & Work Environment
The UNDP Information and Technology Management (ITM) Unit in Copenhagen is responsible for supporting UNDP Country Offices across the globe with vital ICT and Green Energy solutions. As an intern, you will bridge the gap between textbook learning and real-life industry experience by going behind the scenes of the world's leading sustainability initiatives. Working out of the UN City in Copenhagen, you will join an ISO 9001:2015 certified team in a dynamic, informal atmosphere where you are expected to become a vital, contributing member from day one.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Support online collaboration tools and business process automation solutions within the Microsoft SharePoint and Office 365 environment.
- Assist in developing corporate dashboards and applications using NodeJS, PHP, Microsoft PowerApps, and PowerBI.
- Clean and elaborate data gathered via IoT devices installed in UNDP Country Offices utilizing Data Science principles.
- Participate in translating user requirements into precise UML Diagrams and develop quality software using international coding standards.
- Research and test alternative tools for enhancing internal communications, such as MS Teams chatbots and data visualization tools.
- Support continuous improvement (Kaizen Concept) by refining existing operating procedures and templates.
Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications
- Educational Status: Must be enrolled in the final academic year of a Bachelor's degree, enrolled in a Master's degree (or higher), enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship, OR have graduated within the last 12 months in the field of Computer Science, Software Development, or Electrical Engineering.

Remuneration & Conditions
- Financial Support: Interns who are engaged in-person and not financially supported by another institution will receive a monthly stipend (approx. USD 1,000 for Copenhagen) to help cover basic daily expenses like meals and transportation.
- Insurance & Living Costs: Interns are fully responsible for securing adequate medical insurance and must provide a certificate of good health. UNDP does not reimburse medical insurance or costs arising from accidents/illness.
