About the Role & Work Environment
The Istanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development (ICPSD) is the UNDP's global organization mandated to leverage the private sector in development. In partnership with the Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation, they have launched an Online Game Development Bootcamp built upon the "HP Gaming Garage" initiative to foster innovation within the UAE's gaming industry. As a Programme & Community Fellow, you will play a critical role in managing day-to-day operations, tracking participant engagement, and sustaining an inclusive learning community for aspiring game developers and designers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Programme Implementation (30%): Track attendance, assignments, and cohort progress using simple tracking tools. Coordinate with partner schools regarding student lists and timelines.
- Community Development (30%): Organize community events, facilitate communications on platforms like Discord, and support alumni engagement and showcase events.
- Social Media & Communications (20%): Draft and schedule social media posts, develop simple visual communication materials, and monitor engagement metrics.
- Event Support (10%): Assist in coordinating capstone projects, demo days, graduation ceremonies, and hackathons.
- General Support (10%): Provide administrative support to the Technical Specialist, draft meeting minutes, and perform other required duties.
Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications
- Residency: This position is strictly open to UAE Residents only.
- Educational Status: Candidates must be currently enrolled in a postgraduate program (Master's or higher) OR have graduated with a university degree. Preferred fields include Computer Science, ICT, Engineering, Game Development, STEM, Data Science, or AI.
- Language Proficiency: Absolute fluency in both Arabic and English is required. Knowledge of another UN language is an asset.
- Technical Skills: An understanding of Unity and/or C#, and familiarity with game engine scripting is a strong asset. Experience with community platforms (Discord, Circle) and tracking tools (Excel, Google Sheets) is highly preferred.
