Yale CAS Graduate Student Research Award 2026

Are you a Yale graduate student looking to fund your next major research expedition or conference presentation focused on Africa? The Council on African Studies is offering up to $500 in dedicated travel awards to help bring your academic projects to the global stage. Step beyond the campus to share your insights, network with international scholars, and deepen your impact without bearing the full financial burden of travel and lodging.

💡 99jobs Pro-Tip: How to Stand Out

To make your funding proposal highly competitive, clearly outline your budget and meticulously detail how your research or conference paper directly contributes to African Studies. Since MA students receive priority for these specific conference grants, Master's candidates should emphasize their long-term academic goals, while PhD students must explicitly state whether they have already applied for the broader MacMillan Center International Conference Travel grants first.
