In this fully remote internship, you will gain hands-on experience working with digitized archival materials, synthesizing historical findings, and directly supporting UNRWA's institutional memory.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Review and analyze digitized archival materials in line with UNRWA's established guidelines and organizational objectives.
• Extract, validate, and synthesize key information from historical sources to support the development of accurate written outputs.
• Produce concise analytical briefs and summaries based on archival findings, ensuring clarity and relevance for operational purposes.
• Cross-check extracted information against original records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and appropriate contextual interpretation.
• Identify, document, and flag gaps, inconsistencies, or ambiguities within archival materials to inform data quality improvements.
• Support the documentation and tracking of review and writing activities to contribute to project monitoring and workflow refinement.

Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications

• Educational Status: Applicants must be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an MSc or PhD university programme in Social Sciences, Information Management, Data Science, International Relations, Public Administration, Humanitarian/Development Studies, or a related field.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required. Previous experience with document or data management systems is considered a strong asset.
• Core Competencies: Must possess strong attention to detail, solid analytical skills, and the ability to handle sensitive historical and personal data with strict discretion and respect for confidentiality.
