Eligibility, Age & Relaxation
- Tech Assistant: First Class Diploma in relevant discipline from a recognized State Board
- Technician-B: 10th (SSC/Matric/SSLC) + ITI/NTC/NAC in relevant trade from NCVT
- Age Limit (as on 31.10.2025): 18-35 years (Max 40 for SC/ST, 38 for OBC-NCL as per reserved post)
- PwBD: Add'l age relaxation as per Govt rules (13-15 yrs)
- Central Govt employees/Autonomous bodies: Up to 40/45 years for Group C posts
- Widow/divorced women: Up to 35/40 years for Gr C posts
- Ex-Servicemen: As per Central Govt. rules
- Women candidates encouraged to apply; ODL not eligible for these posts
Selection Process
- Written Test (MCQ, 1.5 hrs, curriculum-based; Ahmedabad, Abu Road, Udaipur allow PRL-selected venue)
- Skill Test (practical, qualifying in nature after written test shortlist)
- Scribe for PwBD candidates as per PRL guidelines
- Tie-breaker: Academic score, preference for NAC among Technician-B
- TA for attending skill test as per norms
Application Fee & Refund
- Tech Assistant: Pay ₹750 online (₹250 after written test attend for UR/OBC/EWS, Full refund for SC/ST/PwBD/Women/Ex-Servicemen if attended)
- Technician-B: Pay ₹500 online (₹100 after written test attend for UR/OBC/EWS, Full refund SC/ST/PwBD/Women/ExSM if attended)
- SC/ST/PwBD/ExSM must upload certificate for refund
- Offline fee (through SBI Challan) allowed; all must reach PRL before closing date
- Fee not refunded if candidate fails to attend written test
How to Apply
- Register and apply ONLINE at www.prl.res.in/OPAR from 04 October 2025 (10:00 Hrs) to 31 October 2025 (24:00 Hrs)
- Upload relevant certificates, photos, signatures in prescribed format (see notification appendix)
- Carefully fill bank account for application fee refunds
- Check email/PRL site for all updates (admit card, written test, result, correspondence)

Facilities & Pay
- Tech Assistant: Level-7 (₹44,900-1,42,400 + DA, HRA, TA, as per Central norms)
- Technician-B: Level-3 (₹21,700-69,100 + DA, HRA, TA, as per Central norms)
- Medical for self/dependents, LTC, Canteen, Insurance, NPS pension, departmental housing
- Posting: PRL Ahmedabad/observatories in Udaipur/Mt Abu or anywhere in India
