About UNDP GC-TISD
The UNDP Global Centre for Technology, Innovation and Sustainable Development (GC-TISD) in Singapore connects policymakers, practitioners, and experts globally to co-create practical solutions for sustainable development. Entering its 2025-2028 phase, the Centre focuses on identifying and scaling technological solutions for the SDGs. A central thematic focus is Climate and Sustainability, addressing challenges such as decarbonisation, circular models, and environmental resilience.
Duties and Responsibilities
The intern will engage in a rich learning experience covering sustainable development, policy, and partnerships. Key duties include:
- Research and Thought Leadership (30%):
- Analyze data on circular economy, decarbonisation, and air quality.
- Co-author policy briefs, blogs, and reports.
- Help design capacity-building programs on decarbonisation policies.
- Strategic Advocacy & Partnerships (20%):
- Identify and engage strategic partners in the climate and sustainability sector.
- Explore mutually beneficial partnerships in Singapore and globally.
- Event Management Support (30%):
- Assist in organizing webinars, workshops, and trainings (in-person and online).
- Create visual materials (presentations, infographics) for flagship events like the World Cities Summit.
- Learning & Networking (20%):
- Participate in learning opportunities and networking events within the Singapore ecosystem.
Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Status: Candidates must meet one of the following:
- Currently in the final year of a Bachelor's degree.
- Currently enrolled in a Master's degree.
- Have graduated no longer than 1 year ago from a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
- Residency: Interns must be nationals of Singapore or hold a valid residency permit issued by government authorities at the time of application.
Qualifications, Skills and Competencies
- Language Skills: Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required. Knowledge of other UN languages is an advantage.
- Experience & Interest:
- Deep commitment to addressing climate change and sustainability challenges.
- Proven experience in knowledge sharing and writing communication products.
- Familiarity with international development is an advantage.
- IT Skills: Proficient user of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams). Knowledge of visualization tools (Canva, PowerBI) is an advantage.

Internship Conditions
- Stipend: UNDP provides a monthly stipend of approximately 859.13 SGD.
- Visa: UNDP is not in a position to support visa applications or work permits. Applicants must already have the right to reside/work in Singapore.
- Costs: All other expenses (travel, accommodation, living costs) are borne by the intern.
- Insurance: Interns must provide proof of enrolment in a health insurance plan.
