About UNICEF Zambia
The UNICEF Programme of Cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Zambia (GRZ) is designed to address and mitigate the threat of poverty the country's children face. UNICEF supports interventions that address micronutrient deficiencies, adolescent nutrition, and nutrition in emergencies in close collaboration with Government counterparts and implementing partners.
Duties and Responsibilities
The intern will support implementation, documentation, and follow-up across micronutrient deficiency control, adolescent nutrition, and prevention/management of wasting in emergencies. Key duties include:
- Programme Support: Assist in the preparation and organization of implementation-related documentation.
- Coordination: Contribute to recording, tracking, and following up on actions from internal meetings, technical consultations, and field missions.
- Administration: Provide structured support to routine administrative processes.

Eligibility Criteria
- Education:
- Final Year student or graduated with an undergraduate degree within the last two years.
- Field of study: Nutrition, Public Health Nutrition, or Food Science.
- Strong academic performance is required.
- Family Policy: Applicants must not have immediate relatives working in any UNICEF office or in the line of authority.
Qualifications, Skills and Competencies
- Language Skills: Proficiency in English is required. Knowledge of at least one local language is an advantage.
- Experience:
- Demonstrable ability to organize information, meetings, or activities (academic or volunteer).
- Basic experience in data organization and summarization.
- Technical Skills: Practical use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
