About the Unit

The A&R Research team plays a pivotal role in this mission by discovering new songs and writers through innovative, data-driven methods and evaluating them using sophisticated statistical models.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Discover and track growing songs and writers for the A&R team, exploring what is causing the growth and uncovering the story behind the data.
  • Research available writers and maintain internal records accurately.
  • Develop new methods and metrics to draw actionable insights from existing data sources, and actively investigate emerging data sources.
  • Work directly on coding projects designed to analyze and ingest large volumes of data.
  • Design, execute, and confidently present analytical projects that build the team's broader understanding of music trends.
  • Assist with essential administrative needs, such as documentation and manual database updates.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Status: Must be a current undergraduate or graduate student.
  • Field of Study: Preferably pursuing a degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or another quantitative discipline.

Qualifications, Skills and Competencies

  • Industry Knowledge: Must be a music fan with a solid knowledge of the modern music landscape and familiarity with music data.
  • Technical Skills: Beginner to intermediate proficiency in Python and SQL is required.
