About UNDP GC-TISD
The UNDP Global Centre for Technology, Innovation and Sustainable Development (GC-TISD) in Singapore is a joint initiative between the Government of Singapore and UNDP. It serves as a hub for Digital, AI, and Innovation, connecting policymakers, practitioners, and experts to co-create practical solutions for sustainable development. The Centre focuses on leveraging digital tools and AI to address complex global challenges.
Duties and Responsibilities
The intern will support the Centre’s Digital and AI workstream. Key responsibilities include:
- Research and Insights (40%):
- Conduct research on trends in digital development, AI, and open-source software.
- Analyze case studies and draft knowledge products (blog posts, reports, briefing notes).
- Support the development of toolkits and guides for UNDP Country Offices.
- Community Building and Ecosystem Engagement (30%):
- Support the organization of webinars, workshops, and expert convenings.
- Identify potential partners (tech companies, academia, startups) for collaboration.
- Maintain databases of contacts and support outreach activities.
- Programme Management Support (20%):
- Assist in project implementation and monitoring of key milestones.
- Help prepare project reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ad-hoc Support (10%):
- Support other team members and Centre activities as required.
Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Status: Candidates must meet one of the following:
- Currently in the final year of a Bachelor's degree.
- Currently enrolled in a Master's degree.
- Have graduated no longer than 1 year ago from a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
- Field of Study: International Development, Political Science, Economics, Innovation Management, Public Policy, or a related field.
Qualifications, Skills and Competencies
- Language Skills: Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required. Knowledge of other UN languages is an asset.
- Experience:
- Experience in research and analysis on technology or development topics.
- Familiarity with the digital development ecosystem and AI trends.
- Experience in organizing events or coordinating projects is desirable.
- IT Skills: Proficient user of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
