The UNICEF Digital Education and Learning Innovation portfolio specifically supports governments and partners in strengthening education systems through the equitable, safe, and effective use of digital technologies and Artificial Intelligence (AI). This dynamic portfolio encompasses global programmes, strategic partnerships, knowledge products, and resource mobilization efforts that enable countries to scale impactful, future-ready learning solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Knowledge Management & Communications (Primary Focus): Organize internal repositories (e.g., SharePoint), document lessons learned and case studies, and assist in drafting short knowledge products such as blogs, newsletters, and one-pagers.
• Partnership Intelligence: Map and maintain databases of strategic partners and donors, assist with desk research on collaboration opportunities, and help coordinate partner meetings and workshops.
• Resource Mobilization: Support background research for donor proposals and concept notes, prepare donor briefs, and gather vital results data and evidence for fundraising initiatives.
• Monitoring & Coordination: Consolidate updates from colleagues, maintain simple trackers for deliverables, and prepare internal briefing notes.
• Research Synthesis: Support knowledge synthesis related specifically to AI in education and digital transformation initiatives.

Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Status: Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or master's degree program, or be a recent graduate (within two years of graduation).
• Field of Study: Education, international development, public policy, social sciences, communications, or a closely related field.
• Age Requirement: Interns must be at least 18 years old.
• Family Policy: Applicants must have no immediate relatives (father, mother, brother, sister) working in any UNICEF office, nor other relatives in their direct reporting line.

Qualifications, Skills and Competencies

• Language Skills: Fluency in English is strictly required. Knowledge of an additional UN language is considered an asset.
• Desirable Experience: Prior internships, volunteering, research assistance, or student leadership roles are assets. Relevant experience at the country level, particularly in development, fragile settings, and humanitarian contexts, is highly desirable.

Internship Conditions & Benefits

• Financial Support: Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend (unless they are already receiving financial support for the internship from a third party).
