Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), a premier Central University established in 1920, invites eligible candidates for the position of Guest Teacher on contractual basis across various departments and faculties for the Academic Session 2024-25. The position offers a consolidated remuneration of ₹50,000 per month. Candidates fulfilling the eligibility criteria are invited to attend walk-in interviews at the respective departments with all original certificates and supporting documents.

Essential Qualification• Master's Degree in relevant subject from recognized University
• Minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC/PwD as per UGC norms)
• NET/SLET/SET qualified
Desirable• Ph.D. in relevant subject
• Teaching/research experience
• Publications in reputed journals
Exemption from NET• Ph.D. degree holders who have been awarded the degree in accordance with UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time, exempted from NET/SLET/SET

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Delivering lectures/conducting classes as per department curriculum
  • Preparing course materials, lesson plans, and teaching aids
  • Conducting tutorials, practicals, and lab sessions (if applicable)
  • Assessing student performance through assignments, tests, and examinations
  • Maintaining attendance records and academic documentation
  • Guiding and mentoring students in academic matters
  • Participating in departmental meetings and academic activities
  • Any other academic/administrative work assigned by department/university
Selection Process - Walk-in Interview
  1. No Advance Application: Candidates should directly attend walk-in interview
  2. Interview Date & Time: As per department schedule (check official notification/department website)
  3. Interview Venue: Respective Department offices at AMU Campus, Aligarh
  4. Selection: Based on qualification, experience, interview performance, and subject knowledge
  5. Document Verification: All original certificates verified at the time of interview
  6. Merit List: Selected candidates list will be displayed on department notice board/university website

  • Mandatory Documents:
    • 10th Certificate (Date of Birth proof)
    • 12th Certificate & Mark Sheet
    • Bachelor's Degree Certificate & All Mark Sheets
    • Master's Degree Certificate & All Semester Mark Sheets
    • NET/SLET/SET Certificate (Essential)
    • Ph.D. Certificate (if applicable) with Degree Awarding Certificate
    • Category Certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) from Competent Authority (if applicable)
    • PwD Certificate from Medical Board (if applicable)
    • Experience Certificates (if any)
    • Publications/Research Papers (if any)
    • Any other relevant certificates
    • Recent passport-size color photographs (3 copies)
    • Valid Photo ID Proof (Aadhaar/PAN/Driving License/Voter ID)
Important Instructions for Candidates
  • Walk-in Interview: No online/postal application accepted
  • Candidates must bring ALL original certificates for verification
  • Self-attested photocopies of all documents (one complete set) to be submitted
  • Bring filled application form/bio-data in prescribed format
  • Report at venue 30 minutes before interview time
  • Late arrivals may not be entertained
  • Dress Code: Formal attire mandatory
  • Candidates not meeting eligibility criteria will not be allowed to attend interview
  • No TA/DA will be paid for attending interview
  • Engagement purely temporary and contractual - no claim for regular appointment
  • University reserves right to cancel/postpone interview without prior notice

Terms & Conditions
  1. Engagement as Guest Teacher is purely on contractual basis for Academic Session 2024-25
  2. Contract extendable on semester-to-semester/session-to-session basis as per university requirement
  3. Consolidated remuneration of ₹50,000 per month (no other allowances)
  4. Guest Teachers shall NOT be entitled to:
    • Regular appointment/absorption
    • Any allowances (HRA, DA, TA, etc.)
    • Provident Fund/Pension/Gratuity benefits
    • Leave Travel Concession (LTC)
    • Medical reimbursement
    • Any other benefits available to regular faculty
  5. Contract terminable by either party with one month notice
  6. Services may be terminated immediately in case of:
    • Unsatisfactory performance
    • Misconduct/indiscipline
    • Violation of university rules
    • Furnishing false information
  7. Teaching load as per UGC/University norms
  8. Shall abide by all rules, regulations, and code of conduct of AMU
  9. Shall not engage in any other employment during contract period without university permission
  10. Selected candidates must join immediately after selection (within specified time)
  11. No claim for regularization/permanent employment
  12. University decision shall be final and binding
