The International Trade Centre (ITC) is the joint agency of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the United Nations (UN). Under the direct supervision of the Trade Strategy Programme Officer, the intern will assist in the implementation of "ITC in Iraq" programmes. Key tasks include:
- Research & Analysis:
- Conduct desk-based research on emerging themes relevant to the competitiveness of Iraq's export sector.
- Contribute to the initial diagnostic of Iraq's trade and investment sector.
- Identify priority sectors and perform value chain mapping through desk research.
- Reporting & Recommendations:
- Develop recommendations to improve competitiveness and development impact for priority sectors.
- Ability to analyze and organize research results into structured and properly referenced reports.
- Event Support:
- Contribute to the preparation of presentations and materials for consultations.
- Assist in the organization of the Iraq National Trade Forum 2026.
- Education Status: Applicants must meet one of the following at the time of application:
- Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (Bachelor's level or equivalent); OR
- Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree/Master's or higher); OR
- Have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within one year of graduation.
