IRCTC Recruitment Notice 2025 For Engagement of Apprentice Trainees - Apply Now for Computer Operator and Programming Assistant

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC), a Navratna Government of India Enterprise, East Zone Kolkata invites applications for engagement as Apprentice Trainees for FY 2025-26 under Apprenticeship Act 1961 (as amended in 2014) as a skill building initiative for the nation. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on practical training in COPA trade at one of India's premier public sector organizations.

• Reservation as per Government of India guidelines
• PwBD (Persons with Disabilities): 4% reservation (disability should not be less than 40%)
• Ex-Servicemen: 10% reservation (must produce Discharge Certificate/Armed Forces Serving Certificate)
• SC/ST: As per Govt. norms (Caste certificate in prescribed format required)
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): As per Govt. norms (OBC Certificate with Non-Creamy Layer certificate issued not earlier than ONE YEAR required)
• EWS (Economically Weaker Sections): Candidates not covered under SC/ST/OBC-NCL scheme with family gross annual income below ₹8.00 Lakhs (Income & Asset Certificate issued by Competent Authority required)

*Stipend as per extant rules for apprentices under Apprenticeship Act 1961 (Amended 2014)

1. Merit-Based Selection: Based on percentage of marks in qualifying examinations
2. No Written Test or Viva: Selection purely on merit list basis
3. Tie-Breaking Rules:
   • In case of same marks: Candidate with older age preferred
   • If DOB also same: Candidate who passed matriculation exam earlier considered first
4. Document Verification: Final selection subject to verification of original testimonials
5. Standby List: Candidates in standby list offered to join only on receipt of details of absentees/rejected candidates from merit list
6. Offer in Merit Order: Offers issued strictly in order of merit

1. Visit National Apprenticeship Portal: www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in
2. Register on the portal (if not already registered)
3. Search for "IRCTC East Zone Kolkata" or "COPA Apprentice" opportunity
4. Fill online application form completely and carefully
5. Ensure name, father's name, DOB match exactly as per Matriculation/equivalent certificate (any deviation → cancellation + debarment)
6. Upload self-attested scanned copies of all required documents:
   • 10th Standard Mark Sheet and Certificate
   • ITI Standard mark sheet
   • National Trade Certificate (NTC) issued by NCVT/SCVT or Provisional NTC
   • Certificate for proof of DOB (10th certificate/marksheet or School Leaving Certificate)
   • 12th Standard Mark Sheet & Certificate (if any)
   • Graduation Mark Sheet & Certificate (if any)
   • Caste certificate (for SC/ST/OBC applicants)
   • OBC Certificate (issued within last ONE YEAR with Non-Creamy Layer clause)
   • Disability certificate (for PwBD applicants – issued by Medical Board)
   • Discharge Certificate/Serving Certificate (for Ex-Servicemen quota)
   • EWS Certificate (if claiming EWS quota)
   • Recent color photograph (3.5cm x 4.5cm, not later than 3 months, JPG/JPEG format, 100 DPI, 20kb-70kb, clear front view without cap/sunglasses)

9. Keep 2 additional copies of same photograph for document verification

• Candidates must ensure they are comfortable and interested to work at IRCTC Offices in Kolkata before applying
• Place of work: Kolkata only
• Applications incomplete in any form will be summarily rejected
• Applicants must fill marks and attach supportive documents for all educational/technical qualifications starting from matriculation (year-wise marksheets with pass certificates)
• In case of grading system: Average of highest and lowest marks will be taken
• Final selection subject to verification of original testimonials
• Candidates engaged as apprentices will be released after tenure of apprenticeship training
• NO RIGHT TO CLAIM REGULAR EMPLOYMENT: Candidates will have no right to claim for regular employment in IRCTC in any form
• Tentative schedule advised through email only; be ready to report at short notice for document verification
• No Daily Allowance/Conveyance Allowance/Travelling Allowance paid for document verification
• After selection, request to change trade will NOT be entertained
• Applicants trained only for trade in which selected
• Applicants selected for training will not be allowed to withdraw except for reasons beyond their control
• Decision of IRCTC final in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance/rejection, mode of selection
• Canvassing in any form will disqualify candidature
• Candidature cancelled if fails to produce required original testimonials or any discrepancy noticed
