Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be enrolled in a graduate school programme (Master’s or equivalent) or in the final academic year of a first-level university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent), preferably in law, political science, international relations, social sciences, or a related field. Graduates may also apply if they commence the internship as per the acceptance letter.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support digital data/evidence collection, processing, analysis, review, preservation, and open-source investigation for human rights investigations.
  • Conduct research and analysis on technology trends related to digital data handling and archiving.
  • Assist in developing online training materials and modules.
  • Support expert teams in customized solution development for commissions of inquiry and field missions.
  • Facilitate implementation of investigative technical tools and infrastructure.
  • Ensure digital forensic principles are applied to evidence handling.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Special Skills
  • Strong academic background in law, political science, international relations, or social sciences.
  • Fluency in English required; knowledge of another UN official language (French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Spanish) is an advantage.
  • Interest in human rights and technology.
  • Ability to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
