About the Airbnb Policy Team
The Airbnb Public Policy team is dedicated to promoting the economic opportunity that short-term rentals create for hosts and communities. The Policy Central team strategically supports Regional Policy Teams through projects and processes to make their work more scalable, consistent, and strategic. This includes knowledge management, integrating policy expertise into trust/customer support, and finding creative solutions to regulatory challenges worldwide.
Detailed Duties and Responsibilities
- Capstone Project: Own, manage, and complete a comprehensive capstone project from beginning to end.
- Strategic Partnerships: Work closely with the data science team to identify potential partnerships with think tanks, organizations, and institutions that align with Airbnb's goals.
- AI Integration: Participate in developing and refining AI tools used by the Policy team to engage at scale.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicate with stakeholders across different departments to provide project updates and integrate policy guidance into new business areas.
- Regional Support: Contribute to exciting initiatives for both the central strategic team and Regional Policy Teams working in the field globally.
Eligibility & Essential Requirements
- Academic Status: Must be a first-year Master's student (preferred) or a third-year Bachelor's student graduating between December 2026 and June 2027.
- Field of Study: Enrolled in Public Policy, Public Administration, Political Science, International Relations, Urban Studies, or an equivalent program.
- Work Authorization: Valid work authorization for employment in the United States is required (CPT/OPT is accepted). Visa sponsorship is unavailable.
- Location Restrictions: Currently, Airbnb cannot hire or locate employees in Alaska, Mississippi, or North Dakota.
- Core Competencies: Excellent verbal and written communication, strong research skills, strategic thinking, and exceptional organizational abilities.
