Duties and Responsibilities

• Work closely with senior software engineers to build and maintain sophisticated software applications.
• Undergo training on the full software creation process, from initial design and building to testing and full deployment.
• Develop and implement scripts that automate various stages of the software development lifecycle.
• Learn and apply advanced debugging methodologies to investigate and resolve the root causes of software issues.
• Draft, review, and collaborate on technical and functional documents and reports as required for specific projects.

Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Status: Must be currently enrolled in a Canada-based University.
• Degree Program: Pursuing a Bachelor's degree majoring in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline.
• Availability: Must be able to work full-time (37.5 hours a week) in a hybrid or onsite work structure throughout the duration of the co-op/intern term.

Qualifications, Skills and Competencies

• Core Concepts: Solid grasp of software engineering concepts, principles, and theories.
• Programming & Scripting: C/C++ programming and scripting languages like Python, Windows PowerShell, Linux shell script, Perl, Java, JavaScript, and UML.
• Operating Systems & Databases: Familiarity with UNIX/Linux OS; and databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
• Cloud & Web Frameworks: Knowledge of Cloud computing platforms (Azure) and Web development frameworks (Django, Rails, Spring Boot).
• Additional Tech Skills: Markup languages (HTML, XML, XSL), defect tracking/debugging tools, version control (Git, Github, Perforce), security technologies (OAuth, SSL, TLS), and a basic understanding of PC/CPU architecture, embedded systems, or microcontrollers.

Internship Conditions & Benefits

• Compensation: Competitive targeted hiring range between CAD $44,500.00 and $71,000.00 per year (pro-rated to the internship duration).
• Flexible Terms: Opportunities available for Winter (January - April or January - August 2026) and Summer (May - August or May - December 2026) intakes.
