About the Role & Work Environment
The Digital, AI and Innovation (DAI) Hub serves as UNDP’s central platform for advancing systems transformation, inclusive digitalization, and innovation across its global development work. Operating within the Bureau for Policy and Programme Support, the Hub combines global expertise with field-based insights to support countries in designing scalable solutions. As an intern, you will play a crucial role in enabling stronger institutions, evidence-based decision-making, and more effective service delivery through digital and AI accelerators.
Duties and Responsibilities
Interns will be assigned to support specific workstreams based on their skills and the Hub's needs. Key potential responsibilities include:
- Systems Transformation & Innovation: Conduct research on emerging policy approaches, horizon scanning, and documenting innovative programs aimed at system-level change.
- Data Policy & Governance: Track multilateral processes related to digital rights, research data protection frameworks, and draft policy briefs.
- Data Analytics & Insights: Collect and clean datasets, develop tracking dashboards, and translate data findings into actionable insights.
- Product Design & Build (including AI tools): Participate in designing apps, platforms, and AI tools, conduct user testing, and coordinate with software developers.
- Partnerships & Strategic Communications: Research potential tech partners, draft pitch decks and MoUs, and plan compelling content for social media and internal platforms.
- Programme Delivery & Capacity Building: Develop training materials on digital/AI topics for governments and Country Offices.
Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications
- Educational Status: Applicants must be currently enrolled in a graduate school programme (Master's or higher), in the final academic year of a bachelor's degree, or have graduated with a university degree within the last 12 months.

Remuneration & Conditions
- Stipend: In accordance with UNDP policy, interns are eligible to receive a monthly stipend. The rate varies depending on the duty location (or remote arrangement prorated accordingly).
- Insurance: The intern must provide proof of enrollment in a valid health insurance plan. UNDP accepts no responsibility for medical costs.
