About the Role & Work Environment
Present in 166 countries, UNDP supports governments in developing strong policies, institutions, and partnerships to achieve the 2030 Agenda and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The Effective Development Cooperation team is situated in the Bureau of External Relations and Advocacy (BERA) and provides pivotal support to the Global Partnership for Effective Development Co-operation (GPEDC) as part of the OECD-UNDP Joint Support Team. UNDP’s work in this area supports global policy dialogue, mutual learning, and helps increase the availability of transparent data on development cooperation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Policy Analysis and Secretariat Support (20%): Support the 2023-2026 Work Programme and the 2030 Pact for Effective Development Co-operation, contributing to policy research, issue briefs, blog posts, and the 4th GPEDC monitoring exercise.
- Communications and Advocacy (40%): Implement the GPEDC 2023-2026 Communication and Outreach Plan by drafting newsletters, managing social media (Twitter and LinkedIn), updating the official Trello board, and helping maintain the GPEDC website and data visualization platform.
- Events Liaison (40%): Provide robust logistical support for annual events, webinars, and Steering Committee meetings, including assisting with a virtual engagement platform for the 4th High-Level Meeting.
Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications
- Educational Status: Candidates must be enrolled in a postgraduate degree, the final year of a bachelor's degree, or have graduated within the last 12 months in a relevant field such as economics, public administration, public policy, or international relations.
