About the Role & Work Environment
The Istanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development (IICPSD) hosts the SDG AI Lab, which provides research, development, and advisory support through cutting-edge digital solutions in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). In a joint initiative with UNDP Brazil and the Brazilian Space Agency (AEB), the Lab is launching the Future Tech Leaders (FTL) Programme to raise a new generation of young Brazilian tech specialists. As a Fellow, you will play a critical role in developing and teaching the GIS curriculum for the Space Tech Bootcamp, supporting the country's efforts to utilize space technologies for sustainable development.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Teaching & Curriculum (50%): Plan and prepare GIS materials for the FTL Space Tech Bootcamp and Community Trainings in Brazil. Host office hours, monitor learner progress, and facilitate discussions.
- Community Support (30%): Organize community events and engage Portuguese-speaking participants in Brazil and Angola.
- Digital Solutions & SDGs (10%): Use geospatial data processing to build actionable insights, creating maps and infographics with QGIS/ArcGIS. Develop GIS and ML solutions to tackle international development issues.
- Administrative Support (10%): Provide ad hoc support to the Chief Technical Advisor for AI, Digital Transformation, and Skills, including drafting meeting minutes and assisting at conferences.
