About the Role & Work Environment
UNDP is the knowledge frontier organization for sustainable development in the UN System, serving as the integrator for collective action to realize the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As part of the Global Policy Network, the Decarbonization and Sustainable Energy team forms a dedicated pillar within the Healthy Planet Hub. The team works at the exciting intersection of energy policy, finance, digitalization, data, and AI. In this role, you will help translate global climate ambition into country-level action by strengthening the team's digital presence and public outreach through compelling visual storytelling and targeted social media advocacy.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop highly engaging content for LinkedIn, X (Twitter), YouTube, and Instagram, including graphics, short videos, animations, and infographics.
- Support the implementation of social media campaigns and content plans linked to international days, global events, and sustainable energy advocacy.
- Produce and edit short-form videos, interviews, and event highlights using tools like Premiere Pro and Canva.
- Draft clear, audience-appropriate digital communications content, including social media copy, web text, campaign messaging, and outreach materials.
- Assist in updating the team's website with news, publications, and event-related content using CMS platforms (like WordPress or Drupal).
- Organize and maintain the digital asset library, ensuring clear tagging and filing systems for photo and video files across the organization.
Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications
- Educational Status: Must be enrolled in a postgraduate degree (Master's or higher), the final year of a bachelor's degree, or have recently graduated (within one year) in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.

Remuneration & Conditions
- Monthly Stipend: Where an intern is engaged remotely and is not financially supported by a university, government, or foundation, a remote stipend intended to help cover expenses (such as internet connections) will be paid by the receiving office.
- Equipment & Insurance: Remote interns are responsible for providing their own equipment, internet, and workspace. Interns must also secure adequate medical insurance for the entire duration of the assignment.
- Leave: Interns accrue combined sick and annual leave at the rate of 1.5 days per month.
