The Department of Management's Division of General Services (MTGS) provides support functions to the IAEA, including Archives, Commissary Management, and Facilities Management. The Facilities Management and General Support Section (FMGSS) is responsible for major facilities projects, travel coordination, property management, and logistics. The Property Management Group within this section handles asset management and accountability for both tangible and intangible assets throughout their lifecycle.
The main objective of this internship is to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the operational and administrative services provided by the Property Management Group. It offers passionate individuals the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and multicultural international work environment.
- Asset Reporting & Analysis:
- Assist with preparing accurate statistical reports on Agency assets and conduct statistical analysis of data.
- Assist with preparing inventory information for new assets in Headquarters, Laboratories, and Regional Offices.
- Verification & Inspection:
- Assist with developing plans and conducting asset physical verification of Agency fixed assets.
- Undertake site visits at IAEA Headquarters and Laboratories (Seibersdorf) to carry out physical inspections and verifications.
- Assist with drafting reports of the asset physical verification exercise.
- Systems & Support:
- Assist with testing the ORACLE-based property management system and RFID system.
- Support the Building Services team with Heritage Asset compilation, IAEA Room book updates, and building services requests.
- Perform any other assignment as required within the Facilities Management Unit.
- Age Requirement: Candidates must be a minimum of 20 years of age.
- Education Status:
- Have completed at least three years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a first degree; OR
- Apply up to one year after the completion of a bachelor's, master's, or doctorate degree.
- Prior Participation: Candidates must not have previously participated in the IAEA's internship programme.
University degree in Mathematics, Accounting, Economics, Information Studies, Real Estate, Mechanical/Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Technical Skills: Experience in Data and Information Analysis and Reporting is required.
- Software Skills: Good command of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Languages: Good written and spoken English is essential. Fluency in any other IAEA official language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish, or Russian) is an asset.
