The Department of Global Communications (DGC) leads the United Nations’ global communications and public information efforts, promoting awareness and understanding of the Organization’s work.
The Social Media Section integrates and manages UN DGC’s presence across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, X and LinkedIn, making these channels a critical component of the UN’s outreach strategy.
This internship places you in the French Social Media Section, where you support the development and execution of multilingual digital communication campaigns.
Interns gain hands‑on experience in content creation, analytics, and campaign support within a high‑profile UN communications environment, while observing meetings and contributing to special projects.
- Research, compile, draft and edit information to prepare and produce social media content in French, often under tight deadlines.
- Monitor and analyze statistics related to French‑language social media content and performance.
- Gather social media content at special events, such as film screenings, concerts, and exhibits.
- Assist in creating original French content for platforms including Instagram, Facebook, X and LinkedIn.
- Attend internal meetings as an observer to understand planning and coordination processes.
