The United Nations Information Centre (UNIC) in Mexico is responsible for communicating the work of the United Nations to the Mexican public. The intern will work under the direct supervision of the UNIC Director and/or the National Information Officer (NIO). This role supports strategic communication efforts across Mexico, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
The internship is unpaid and full-time (35 hours per week) for a duration of 6 months. It offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in multimedia production, strategic communication, and digital outreach within the UN system.
- Multimedia Production & Design:
- Assist in the production of multimedia stories, digital, and audiovisual assets for web and social media accounts.
- Draft and edit written, audiovisual, and digital content for web, social media, and print in Spanish and English.
- Assist with research, drafting, and production of communication products.
- Strategic Communication & Outreach:
- Assist in outreach efforts to various publics using traditional and new digital means of communication.
- Support the strategic communication of the UN in Mexico, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
- Assist in the coordination of communication activities of UN System agencies in Mexico.
- Event Coordination & Liaison:
- Assist in the daily liaison with civil society, academia, and NGOs in Mexico, Cuba, and the Dominican Republic.
- Collaborate with the public and private sectors in organizing activities on UN issues.
- Assist in preparing the organization of events and cooperate with civil society on information issues.
- Education Status: Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent).
- Experience: No professional working experience is required.
