The United Nations Information Centre in Prague (UNIC Prague) is the principal source of information about the United Nations system in the Czech Republic. The Centre promotes public understanding and support for the aims and activities of the United Nations by disseminating information materials to local audiences in English and Czech, engaging partners, and bringing the UN closer to the people it serves.
The intern will work under the direct supervision of the Head of Office. This internship offers the opportunity to support the team in administration and strategic communication priorities, gaining experience in digital communication, event organization, and media relations within the UN system.
- Digital Communication & Social Media:
- Assist in maintaining UNIC digital communication channels (Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram).
- Adapt social media assets using Canva.
- Design and post Instagram and Facebook stories; subtitle videos.
- Maintain a database of social media visuals and graphical elements in Trello.
- Content Management & Translation:
- Assist in editing and adapting content for the UNIC Prague website.
- Translate and edit content from English to Czech and vice versa.
- Event Organization & Outreach:
- Assist in organizing public events such as education programmes, seminars, conferences, street festivals, and job fairs.
- Assist with media monitoring and responding to public/media inquiries.
- Administrative Support:
- Maintain the UNIC contact database (MS Excel, Mailchimp).
- Assist with logistics, administrative agenda, and secretariat functions (incoming mail, phone calls, emails).
- Education Status: Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
- Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
